    As a Cement Mason Apprentice, your primary duties include learning while assisting journeyman masons in all facets of the trace to construct or repair walls, partitions, and other structures.


    • Spreading concrete to specified depth and workable consistency
    • Mixing cement
    • Leveling, smoothing, and shaping surfaces of freshly poured concrete
    • Finishing concrete surfaces using power trowel, or wetting and rubbing concrete with abrasive stone to create finish
    • Removing rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammer
    • Patching holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compound
    • Molding expansion joints and edges
    • Cleaning work area and restocking supplies and materials as necessary
    • All other duties as assigned

    • Knowledge of equipment and their uses
    • Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication)
    • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50 lbs



    Education and Experience Requirements


    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Previous experience in construction preferred, but not required
    • A valid driver’s license is required
    • Enrolled in Apprentice Aptitude Program
