    As an Operator Foreman you will plan, organize, and direct operators based on the project, state and federal requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Ability to operate the following equipment based on the requirements of the project:
      • Blade
      • Dozer
      • Loader
      • Scraper
      • Forklift/Telehandler
      • Excavator
      • Bobcat/Skid-steer
      • Tractor with disk/box grader
      • Roller
      • Water truck
      • Company truck

     

    • Follows prescribed safety regulations.
    • Understands and adheres to Mortenson live utility protocols
    • Ensure that all housekeeping is maintained in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area
    • Oversee routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning
    • Observes equipment operation to detect machine malfunction
    • Follows work plans and pre-task cards
    • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel
    • Involved in schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for completion of job
    • Analyze and resolve work problems
    • Ensure crew timecards are filled out and turned in
    • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
    • Supervision and coordination of operators

    Qualifications

    • Able to adapt communication style to the speaker and posses a high degree of active listening skills
    • Strong teamwork orientation
    • Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
    • Detail orientation
    • Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals and maneuver steering wheel to operator equipment
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, procedure manuals, and plans/specifications for project work scope
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
    • Knowledge of equipment and their uses
    • Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication)
    • Understanding of basic survey and grading to survey elevations
    • Understanding of GPS machine control
    • Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
    • Ability to work independently

     

     

    Education and Experience Requirements

     

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 5 years of related experience
    • Must possess valid driver’s license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law
    • Equipment certifications as required
